Denomination Development
Rev. Dr. Diane Peters was born and raised in Washington, D.C. She is an only child. She was educated in the parochial schools in the District of Columbia. She received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and her Masters of Science in Administration degree from Trinity Washington University.
Rev. Peters is a Senior cleric in the African American Catholic Congregation. She was ordained a priest, in 1992 by His Grace, Archbishop George Augustus Stallings, Jr. She has been appointed, by the Patriarch, to serve as the National Director of Denomination Development, since April, 2016. During her tenure with the AACC, she has held the positions of Canon of the Cathedral, AACC Administrator, and Personal Assistant to the Archbishop. She holds certification as a Human Capital Coach through the Coach Training Alliance. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Master’s Degree in Organizational Development from Trinity Washington University. She attended Washington Theological Union where she did her theological studies. She received an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity degree from the CICA- International University and Seminary.
For her secular job, Rev. Peters currently serves as the Director, Strategic Outreach for the Office of the Secretary for the Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (DLLR) in Baltimore, Md. She has also been appointed to serve as the Co-Chair for the Million Women Mentors Maryland initiative which is designed to recruit mentors to encourage young girls and women to enter into STEM careers. She has always had a passion for working with the underserved. She has more than 35 years of experience working with disadvantaged and at-risk youth. She serves as an independent consultant to contractors where she provides training, technical assistance and coaching on program management and program development for workforce development programs and initiatives.
Rev. Dr. Peters is single and does not have any children. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She spends her time reading, praying and listening to inspirational music.
